PLYMETAL PANELS
Plymetal is a sandwich combination panel consisting of metal skins with a plywood core, with thickness ranging from a quarter inch to one inch. The materials of metallic skin varies based on the usage of the plymetal panels. Dull finish stainless steel skin is mainly used for floor panels for mass transportation while brushed or satin finished stainless steel is used when the visible surface is exposed to passengers. The most popular choice for interior panels is melamine textured aluminum skin.
MELAMINE FINISHED ALUMINUM PANELS
This panel is composed of a textured melamine skin and an aluminum substrate with widely used thickness range of 0.040 inch to 0.125 inch. It is used for the panels that require thin construction while maintaining high rigidity and pleasing color and texture. Wainscot panels and curved ceiling panels are frequently made with this material.
HPL (HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE)
This panel is composed of textured melamine skin and phenolic plastic composite layers with widely used thickness range of 0.080 inch to 0.750 inch. This panel is used for the parts that require high rigidity and pleasing color and texture with immunity to environment. Side ceiling panels, access covers, partition panels and cab doors are frequently made with this material.
